What We Need

PR Senior Account Director– WFH/Melbourne/Sydney

Full-Time, Permanent Contract

Who we are looking for:

Simply put, we need a bit of PR unicorn to lead a team of dynamic consultants working on accounts spanning an exciting mix of consumer and technology brands.

Key skills & requirements are:

  • Min 7 years PR agency experience, ideally most recently as a PR Account Director
  • Exceptional client and staff management skills
  • High level organisational skills honed in a fast paced environment prone to constant change
  • Demonstrated commercial understanding and acumen
  • Recent experience in managing media, influencers and events

What you'll be doing at WE

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsibility for the strategic direction and growth of client accounts and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounts. 
  • Management of client account budgets and for the business unit’s overall financial performance, including achieving set minimum business targets.  
  • Delivering – without supervision – client service that is consistent with WE standards. 
  • Leading development of client proposals and plans including strategy development. 
  • Managing every aspect of a nominated business unit’s performance including ongoing strategic direction, growth, client satisfaction, staff relations and development, and new business development.
  • Providing overall strategic direction and advice for the management and implementation of media and PR campaigns. 
  • Involvement in recruitment and retention of team members as well as succession planning. 
  • Ensuring that members of the business unit uphold all WE policies and procedures. 
  • Mentoring and managing junior staff and contributing positively to the agency’s culture. 
  • Autonomous control of planning resourcing and team capacity. 
  • Conducting staff reviews with Head/ Managing Director. 
  • Overseeing the management of all business unit projects. 
  • Achieving financial and growth targets set with the Head/ Managing Director. 
  • Proactively contributing to the promotion and growth of WE Communications as a company through new business ideas and processes. 

 

What you've been able to accomplish

Key selection criteria:

  1. Undergraduate or post graduate studies in public relations, marketing or equivalent and / or minimum 7 years related industry experience;
  2. Must have excellent interpersonal skills;
  3. Ability to independently manage client issues and negotiations;
  4. Highly competent in all forms of PR writing and services including superior editing skills. setting clear tasks and excellent coaching and leadership skills; 
  5. Exceptional time management and organisational skills; 
  6. A superior knowledge of all media facets and a well-developed network of national media contacts; 
  7. Superior negotiation and conflict management skills;
  8. Excellent financial understanding and management;
  9. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously; 
  10. Ability to think creatively;
  11. Ability to plan strategically and globally; 
  12. Extensive knowledge of WE’s resources, culture, and system; 
  13. Proficient in computer software.
