Who we are looking for

Are you interested in the stockmarket and know a little about share trading? We are looking for a recent communication graduate or junior communicator with an interest in the ASX or financial communication. The position will be responsible for providing administrative and client service support to the agency’s largest and rapidly expanding team with a focus on shareholder communication.

The position

The full time, permanent position is primarily located at either of Level 3/132-136 Albert Road, South Melbourne/ Level 8/52 Phillip Street, Sydney with the option of working from home up to two days per week.

The key purpose of the position is to assist in the day-to-day administration of public relations and communication initiatives to support client activities. This includes maintaining a high level of awareness with client activities, detail-oriented program and project management and professional communication as needed.

A day in the life of this position could include: drafting a media release or ASX announcement, pitching a story to a journalist, building an EDM and sending it to shareholders, interviewing a CEO for a blog article, booking a presentation for a client and chasing RSVPs, or drafting copy for social media.

What you'll be doing at WE

Key responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Support the team in implementing day-to-day client account activities effectively; 
  • Prepare account service-related documents such as meeting agendas, meeting reports, proposals and other client communications and correspondence; 
  • Assist with event management and logistics including developing any marketing material required;    
  • Assist with shareholder communication and media relations including media releases and pitches, ASX announcements, media briefs, research, track media coverage and deliver to clients in a timely manner;    
  • Social media content calendar management including post drafting and image sourcing; 
  • Maintaining current work-in-progress records and archives of past project information as appropriate; 
  • Assist team members in the research and formatting for new business pitches;    
  • Work with payroll team to ensure purchase orderss are raised and supplier invoices are processed on time 
  • Follow direction from senior staff members, accept feedback and advice in a positive manner and make constructive changes where required; 
  • Overtime develop an ability to directly contact clients under supervision including sending media coverage, sending agendas, attending client meetings.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

What you've been able to accomplish

Key selection criteria:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Arts, Business/Commerce or a related discipline.  
  2. 1-2 internship placements is highly regarded. 
  3. Self-motivated and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tight deadlines.  
  4. Possess exceptional communications skills and enthusiasm 
  5. Interest in stockmarket and/or financial services communication 
  6. Ability to work across a number of accounts and develop good management skills. 
  7. Ability to time manage and prioritise tasks. 
  8. Ability to work as part of a team and support consultants with all administrative tasks. 
  9. Ability to format presentations and organisation client materials including printing and binding with minimal supervision.
