What We Need

Codeword is looking for a super organized, detail-oriented, mid-level Account Manager to work on editorial development, project management and social campaigns for some of the world’s biggest tech brands.


The Account Manager serves as the primary day to day client contact. The AM supports the development of the strategic direction for the brand and assists in managing the agency team from project planning through implementation. This position supports client relationships, account profitability and growth.

What you'll be doing

Client Management


  • Manages daytoday needs of account and maintains daily client contact and followup
  • Operates with a consultative approach, while building rapport and credibility with the client group.  
  • Take ownership of all accounts within their portfolio, referring upwards when necessary or appropriate
  • Ensures common understanding of project objectives and effectively communicates next steps and action items to internal and client teams
  • Contributes thoughtfully to the brand tactical planning and creative process
  • Gather, share and act upon feedback from the client on campaign work to build satisfaction, recognition of agency value.
  • Review production timetables from the production and delivery teams, monitor progress of projects against timetables and effect timely delivery
  • Coordinate with internal teams across agency functions, including Account Management, Creative, Editorial and Strategy


Client Engagement 


  • Participates actively in client calls and client meetings e.g. takes a central role in discussions on specific materials you are responsible for.
  • Directly addresses client inquiries and concerns and partners with agency team to present solutions to client 
  • Engage senior management in an appropriate manner regarding any client needs/concerns
  • Ensure that both internal and external stakeholders involved in projects are informed of all developments, including time, budget, and delivery issues, at every stage of the process
  • Develop an understanding of marketing strategies and tactics that will be appropriate and effective for your clients
  • Work closely with senior members of the Account Management team to develop pitch work. And at times will organize and manage client presentations. 
  • Work in partnership with other members of the Account Management team, to ensure that all of our clients’ needs are being met as well as proactively exploring ways to further service offerings and grow these relationships.

  • Encourage teamwork and good communication
  • Proactively support your manager, suggesting new ideas and questioning thinking where appropriate

What you've been able to accomplish

  • 2-4 years prior experience in an agency setting
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas internally and to clients.
  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of digital marketing, social media, online content development, and traditional advertising projects.
  • Strong project management skills - can organize and prioritize to hit deadlines and goals 
  • Problem solver with a flexible and optimistic attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience managing process for content-oriented websites
  • Understanding of social media platforms and best practices
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and digital channels a plus (e.g. search, video, mobile, measurement planning, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring/managing a team is a plus.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, both working well with a team and individually.
