What We Need

Codeword is looking for a creative senior strategist to join our growing team of digital, content and social media strategists. You don’t have to have agency experience, but you are open and driven, have a point of view on anything from Selling Sunset to what tech enthusiasts care about, and speak broadly about a number of culture related topics without being an expert on any of them. From long-term planning to daily engagement, you will also lead the content and internal comms strategy for one of the world’s largest tech brands.

 

Some detail below on what we're looking for, but open to a variety of skills and backgrounds. We love folks that can add to our diverse strategy team, so ex consultants, financial analysts, MBAs, art history majors… all welcome. No hard requirements on the below, and feel free to let us know what you can bring to CODEWORD that we aren’t considering. 

What you'll be doing

  • Being the eyes and ears of our audience, the go-to expert on who they are and what they’re talking about, distilling insights into actionable tactics
  • Partnering with the editorial and creative teams to brief and brainstorm content that aligns with audience insights and supports client goals
  • Managing junior staff and helping to develop strategic skill sets (presentation skills, framework development, narrative creation)
  • Providing guidance and ensuring adherence to best practices across multiple digital platforms
  • Providing proactive creative inspiration and curation of relevant industry news, case studies and best practices to team members and clients

What you've been able to accomplish

  • 6+ years of relevant experience developing content, comms, social media and/or audience development strategies in an agency or media publisher setting
  • Demonstrated ability to distill marketing goals and audience insights into executable strategy
  • Ability to create and present killer, client-ready decks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organized and detailed. 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, both working well with a team and individually
  • Familiarity with digital advertising industry and concepts 
  • Proficiency in analytics and reporting (i.e. Google analytics, social CMS reporting, etc.)
  • B2B and Brand Strategy experience a plus
