Who we are looking for

The position will be responsible for every day-to-day client management and satisfaction, serving as the point of strategic integration and counsel for the team. This position will manage, plan, and execute on earned and owned media programs.

Key skills & requirements are

  • Responsible for the strategic direction and growth of client accounts and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounts. 
  • PR writing and services including superior editing skills. 
  • Lead development of client proposals and plans including strategy development.
  • A superior knowledge of all media facets and a well-developed network of national media contacts. 
  • Leverage connections to drive new business – securing opportunities to submit proposals or pitch – ultimately win the business.

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsible for the strategic direction and growth of client accounts and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounts. 
  • Manage client account budgets and for the business unit’s overall financial performance, including achieving set minimum business targets. 
  • Independently manage client issues and negotiations and responsible for organic client growth. 
  • Responsible for delivering – without supervision – client service that is consistent with WE’s standards. 
  • PR writing and services including superior editing skills. 
  • Lead development of client proposals and plans including strategy development.
  • Set clear tasks and use excellent coaching and leadership skills. 
  • A superior knowledge of all media facets and a well-developed network of national media contacts. 
  • Provide overall strategic direction and advice for the management and implementation of media and PR campaigns. 
  • Participate in recruitment and retention of team members as well as succession planning. 
  • Ensure that members of the business unit uphold all ’s policies and procedures. 
  • Mentor and manage junior staff and contribute positively to the agency’s culture. 
  • Conduct staff reviews with the Head of the team. 
  • Oversee the management of all business unit projects. 
  • Achieve financial and growth targets set with the GM and/or the Head of the team.
  • Ensure profitability for the business unit.
  • Leverage connections to drive new business – securing opportunities to submit proposals or pitch – ultimately win the business.
  • Use presentation skills and confidence in autonomously leading the team in new business presentations. 
  • Contribute to the promotion and growth of the company through new business ideas and processes. 

What you've been able to accomplish

Key selection criteria:

  1. Undergraduate or post graduate studies in public relations, marketing or equivalent and / or minimum 8 years related industry experience. 
  2. Strong oral, writing, and editing skills. 
  3. Exceptional time management and organisational skills. 
  4. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. 
  5. Ability to supervise and motivate the work of account staff. 
  6. Ability to handle and manage stressful situations.  
  7. Superior negotiation and conflict management skills. 
  8. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously. 
  9. Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations and pitches to clients. 
  10. Ability to think creatively. 
  11. Ability to plan strategically and globally. 
  12. Ability to write strategic materials for client. 
  13. Extensive knowledge of WE’s resources, culture, and system. 
  14. Understand the financial aspects of the business. 
  15. Proficient in computer software.
