Who we are looking for 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to support every aspect of the day-to-day management of brand marketing and technology client campaigns. 

The key purpose of the position is to delegate effectively, create and manage budgets, achieve above-average results. The role will also be expected to identify new ideas of researching, write and present new business proposals consistent with WE standards.

The position 

The full time, permanent position is primarily located at Level 8/52 Phillip Street, Sydney with the option of working from home up to two days per week. 

Key responsibilities for this position include: 

  • managing client projects and contributing to the strategic direction of client accounts. 
  • identifying, understanding and satisfying clients’ needs and resolve problems as required. 
  • independently managing client budgets on specific projects. 
  • running client meetings including setting agenda, responding to client queries, providing updates on account activity. 
  • researching, writing and editing new business proposals including generating new ideas. 
  • negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best price/result for the client and WE. 
  • managing multiple projects with highly developed organisational, planning and decision-making skills.

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Client service:

  • Responsible for independently managing client projects and contributing to the strategic direction of client accounts.
  • Capable of identifying, understanding and satisfying clients’ needs and resolve problems as required.
  • Ability to independently manage client budgets on specific projects.
  • Experience and confidence to provide clients with strategic counsel on day-to-day issues and add value by identifying new ideas and opportunities for clients.
  • Ability to run client meetings including setting agenda, responding to client queries, providing updates on account activity. Overseeing reporting including editing contact reports, WIP documents, evaluation reports and ensure all documents are delivered on time.

Business development:

  • Actively research and identify opportunities for organic growth and new business opportunities.
  • Capable of researching, writing and editing new business proposals including generating new ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business.
  • Responsible for allocation of tasks to junior staff for new business activity.
  • Lead allocated sections of new business presentation with confidence.
  • Ability to lead group brainstorms including preparing briefing document for participants and generating ideas and discussion.
  • Capability to transform brainstorm ideas into workable concepts for new business presentations.


  • Assist junior staff in development and provide accurate and prompt feedback.
  • Assist the Senior Account Director / Account Director in providing feedback on staff for reviews.
  • Actively nurture and encourage a positive team environment.
  • Play an active role in planning resourcing and capacity.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best price/result for the client and WE.
  • Manage multiple projects with highly developed organisational, planning and decision making skills.
  • contribute to the overall growth of the business.
  • demonstrate confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with others.

What you've been able to accomplish

  1. Undergraduate or post graduate studies in public relations/marketing or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 3-6 years related industry experience within the technology, brand marketing and/or consumer sector
  3. Agency experience preferred.
  4. Highly competent in all forms of public relations writing (e.g. media releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, Q&As, speeches, white papers) and verbal communications skills.
  5. Excellent editing skills, media materials should require little (if any) editing.
  6. Competent in writing client proposals and plans including strategy development.
  7. Ability to determine a client’s PR requirements and assign tasks and set timelines for junior staff.
  8. Highly competent in a range of PR services including: event management, internal communications, issues management.
  9. Ability to work independently on allocated client projects including setting strategic direction, timelines, etc.
  10. Excellent knowledge of the media – ability to manage a media relations campaign and pitch stories independently.
  11. Strong media contacts and fully conversant with how the electronic and print media works.
  12. Demonstrate emerging leadership skills and ability to mentor junior team members.
  13. Well developed negotiation and conflict management skills.
  14. Highly competent in financial management skills – developing and managing budgets, managing the income spreadsheet and accurate invoices.
