Our Microsoft account is looking for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join the Cloud Communications team! Are you:

Our SAEs manage multiple day-to-day client and agency requests in a dynamic team environment. This SAE position is perfect for those who like to work directly with clients to develop and pitch stories around technology empowering people and businesses to do and achieve more. We need a curious and accountable individual to support communications and storytelling efforts centered on Microsoft's customer news.


The right candidate thrives on close collaboration with clients and teammates to craft storylines and media plans and is tactful, diplomatic, and adept at thoughtfully finalizing (and coaching others to finalize) materials on a tight deadline with a positive attitude. Core responsibilities for the role include direct collaboration with clients, creating media plans, developing communications material, contributing to rhythm of business processes and reporting workstreams, and building media relationships that help drive successful outcomes for client priorities. 

What you'll be doing

  • Maintain and grow relationships with key media in technology and business outlets
  • Lead or partner on projects that demonstrate strategic planning and creative thinking as well as drive news
  • Maintain and grow client relationships by contributing to the development and implementation of communication strategies, executing on projects (leading where appropriate)
  • Identify communication and industry trends and share with key agency and client stakeholders
  • Monitor, report and provide insight on competitor and issue-specific social media activities, unique and creative uses of social campaigns or emerging culture themes
  • Integrate and gather information across teams, clients, and partners as needed for projects
  • Negotiate and manage client expectations and satisfaction; assure internal and external stakeholders are aligned
  • Oversee and reinforce consistent adherence to media management processes: media lists, coverage monitoring and industry coverage trends

What you've been able to accomplish

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field, or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience
  • 3+ years of experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Exceptional media relations background with demonstrated capacity of working with global business and policy press to manage story development
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience with written and developed materials, including integrated communication plans, press releases, pitches, and social media content

 Additional Requirements:

  • High level of initiative; takes accountability for role on projects
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong client relationships
  • Has established editor and/or analyst relationships and has proactively placed stories
  • Client and business environment: Customer service orientation is a must. Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
