What We Need

ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the WE Global Health team, this role is for a candidate with a passion for navigating the pharmaceutical and medical device industry to deliver impactful leadership in a growing team. We are looking for a brilliant new Senior Account Manager to take on the day-to-day running of a number of the top clients within our healthcare practice.

 

The ideal candidate will be a superstar healthcare / pharmaceutical communicator who wants an environment where passion, creativity and curiosity are valued. We are looking for someone who has experience running accounts in the healthcare industry, that span product / data communications, disease awareness campaigns, corporate communications and media campaigns.

 

Successful candidates will have a knack for first-class client service, top tier storytelling (content creation and media relations) and high-profile campaign delivery. They will have a deep understanding of healthcare audiences and an interest in being part of a growing practice (including the agency responsibilities that might entail). This a great chance for an experienced AM, or newer SAM to take on the challenges and opportunities that come from working for a global agency with great ambitions and greater potential.

What you'll be doing

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client service
    • Day-to-day client and team management. Including:
      • Partnering with director level on overall account planning, as well as taking the lead on planning project activations/handling overall responsibility for smaller accounts
      • Growing the client relationship and providing strategic counsel
      • Managing the team’s progress on activities and reporting on client’s results
      • Budget management and team resourcing (in conjunction with director level)
  • Press office
    • Overall press office leadership including:
      • Development of media materials (press releases, curtain raisers, spokespeople quotes, Q&A documents etc.)
      • Leadership of coordination with client Veeva / LMR review cycles, ensuring attention to detail, accuracy and timely management of amends by broader team
      • Leading media campaigns (inc. developing plans and advising on approach)
      • Managing junior team members on media sell-ins (inc. reviewing media lists), identify and responding to reactive commentary opps
      • Proactive story leadership i.e. working with the junior level staff to identify, develop and pitch new ideas to feed the PR programme, providing strategic media recommendations
      • Content creation and reviews
  • New business
    • Support for new business opportunities, including prospect research (sourcing and gathering audience, industry or competitor market data), media and social audits and taking part in pitches
    • Project management of active new business opportunities
  • Agency and healthcare practice leadership
    • Involvement in the AM/SAM peer group
    • Oversight/integration between WE Roots team and senior peer groups (WEUKAD and LT)
    • Managing career development and performance of direct reports

 

What you've been able to accomplish

PREVIOUS PROVEN EXPERIENCE

  • AM/SAM experience of managing healthcare clients / accounts (at UK, EMEA or Global level)
  • Proven track record of running successful integrated campaigns, both in the UK and across EMEA (ideally)
  • Effective team leader, able to manage efficient and motivated teams, get ahead of issues
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Strong content creation skills – blog, press releases etc. and an editorial eye for reviewing written work
  • Proven ability to develop strong senior media relationships and a comprehensive understanding of the media (inc. new media) environments, which they use to develop powerful media narratives
  • Experience conducting successful new business development for both prospective and existing clients
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strong client relationships, providing strategic and tactical advice, drafting/executing plans, providing thoughtful analysis
  • Management of client budgets and reporting
