What We Need

We’re looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our Microsoft Analyst Relations team to help execute industry analyst engagements, rated research, manage day-to-day client and agency projects with an eye on detail in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment. You’ll collaborate on our analyst relations campaigns and play an important role in our Microsoft client’s company launches and initiatives.  

 

An ideal candidate for this role must possess strong collaboration skills to partner with colleagues and clients. Additionally, the ability to understand and prepare for various analyst engagements is crucial, requiring organizational skills, thoroughness, and diplomacy.  

 

What does that really mean? Here’s an example. If you read a Wall Street Journal story on business technology, you’ll often find quotes from technology industry analysts who are experts on what customers need most to transform their businesses. The Microsoft Analyst Relations team works closely with that analyst community, providing accurate, up-to-date information and engaging to get their insights and opinions. Analysts use that information to write research, talk to their clients and make technology recommendations. Our clients use that analyst intelligence to understand what the market is demanding and where it’s going.  

 

This Senior Account Executive position can be based out of WE Communication’s Portland or Seattle offices.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with clients to execute participation in rated research with firms such as Gartner, Forrester and IDC.  
  • Organize, schedule and executing engagements with analysts including consults, inquiries, briefings, analyst days and other meetings. 
  • Monitor analyst coverage, providing analysis and reporting on metrics. 
  • Maintain activity-tracking systems. 

 

What you've been able to accomplish

  • Achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Library Sciences or a related field is preferred. Or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience. 
  • In a 4-5 year span, have developed your integrated communications experience, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry. 
  • Established an exceptional influencer relations background with a demonstrated capacity of working with them to shape their perception of your client’s product. 
  • Through daily use, developed high proficiencies with the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel). Bonus if you know a littleor a lot about AI! 

Additional Requirements:

  • Increased level of analysis and strategic recommendations based on industry knowledge
  • High level of initiative; takes accountability for role on projects
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong client relationships
  • Has established analyst relationships and has proactively placed stories
  • Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
  • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion

Your Salary: 

The target range of base salary in all locations within the United States for this role is $67,000 - $74,000 per year. Actual salary is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to business needs, level of responsibility, skill set, level of experience, and geographical location.
