Overview

 

The SVP will run the centralized business development efforts for the North America region and will report to the NA President, Kass Sells. In partnership with the NA Sector Leads, Integrated Services and Insights & Analytics leads, office GMs, and the senior executive team, this leader will build, grow, nurture, and expand an always-on new business engine that maps to our agency strategy and brand vision. The role will be based in the U.S., but will involve collaboration with business and client development counterparts in EMEA and APAC on sales strategies and tactics for large account sales strategies.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop sales and collaboration strategies that generate and secure new business with mid and large size accounts in target sectors.
  • Develop and drive against target prospect list in partnership with regional and practice agency leaders. Successfully collaborating with multiple teams and sectors.
  • Drive development of an active pipeline strategy, analyze the sales forecast on regular basis and report to senior agency management.
  • Build a perspective on industry trends and competitor’s business development efforts that enables the agency to improve and stay ahead.
  • Provide sales process consulting and guidance to NA President, sector leads and service leads.
  • Champion a broader regional culture of business development networking and skills building to mobilize employee base and work as one collective team.
  • Utilize, nurture, and improve established agency sales approaches including processes and tools.
  • Lead, engage, and develop a high-functioning business development team, including recruitment, retention and motivation of necessary talent.
  • Measure and evaluate pursuits against key criteria such as success rates, cost of pursuit, and collaboration metrics.
  • Collaborate with global business and client development counterparts around the globe, and agency marketing to support revenue acquisition.
  • Provide training for agency personnel to improve pitches, organic growth efforts and client communications.
  • Operationalize the management and coordination of pitches to include case study, RFP, pricing and follow-up. Partner with Finance leaders to aid in the negotiation of costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous experience with P&L or budget responsibility
  • Must be able to work with teams across various geographic locations (virtual team structures)
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
  • Open office environment with a diverse team (flat structure)
  • Roll your sleeves up, lead-from-the-front style leadership
  • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English.
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion.
  • Travel (regionally) up to 20%.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 12-15 years of experience in large account sales in a consultancy environment; experience selling into target industry sector(s) required.
  • Proven sales experience for a consultancy business is required; communications experience preferred (via public relations, advertising, social media or other communications agency).
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals. International market experience not required but highly desired.
  • Collaborative and influential team player with effective verbal and written communications skills, able to work in stressful environments and provide steady leadership.
  • Flexible, willing to learn as well as influence.
