WE communications, a global, integrated communications agency, is hiring a Senior Account Executive (SAE) for its Brand Reputation Management team, joining a team of professionals with diverse backgrounds in strategic communications and consulting, public relations, public and corporate affairs, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, employee communications, and CEO/executive communications.


This position will serve as a day-to-day contact for client accounts, with an emphasis on internal communication and employee engagement solutions. The SAE will be a key member of the Employee Engagement team, responsible for implementing and developing campaigns that ensure client satisfaction and achievement of objectives, including:

  • Advising on CEO/executive leadership communication to employees.
  • Delivering communication campaigns for clients, especially internal or employee-focused initiatives.
  • Managing client projects and crafting deliverables, such as communication plans, key messaging and collateral materials.
  • Developing positive rapport and strong client relationships, particularly for key internal communication accounts.
  • Contributing to broader practice development efforts and supporting new business pursuits, targeted marketing, business development and thought leadership activities.
  • This position is based in Bellevue, Wash.


Client Service

  • Help manage day-to-day client relationship, providing strategic counsel and overseeing projects.
  • Assist in developing and presenting communications plans that clarify business goals, situation analysis, challenges, solutions, measurement criteria and fiscal planning.
  • Help drive implementation of communication campaigns. This may include materials development, such as campaign briefs, strategic recommendations, key messaging and communication frameworks as well as written collateral (e.g., tool kits, newsletters, executive presentations).
  • Manage significant cycles of media inquiries as well as proactive relationships with key national media/influencers.
  • Anticipate potential communications challenges, identify opportunities, develop solutions, and help “sell” and negotiate the ideas
  • Help manage, maintain and grow client relationships.
  • Collaborate with other business leads to integrate and drive best results for all parties.

Development of Agency Business

  • Contribute to practice and agency business development and marketing efforts, including development of proposals and client presentations.
  • Build relationships within the agency and increase internal visibility for our employee engagement/internal communications offerings. This may include developing thought memos and internal presentations, particularly related to internal communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.




The SAE joins a team of professionals with multi-disciplinary skills who successfully blend sector and content knowledge, client service, and expertise in strategic consulting and communications. He/she is expected to have the following qualifications:


Sector Knowledge and Technical Expertise

  • Experience in internal communications, employee engagement, change management, issues management, executive positioning and organizational development.
  • Knowledge of non-profits, healthcare and/or employee benefits
  • Experience designing and implementing consulting and communications programs in support of internal communications and organizational transformation.
  • Experience with corporate image, issues/crisis management and strategic communications across multiple audience segments.
  • Experience developing communication plans, launching strategies, product and/or issue positioning.
  • Exceptional media relations background with demonstrated capacity of working with global business and policy press to manage story development.
  • Proficiency with business applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lync/Office Communicator, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field is preferred. Or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience.


Client Service

  • Experience managing and supporting senior-level clients and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Ability to work with clients and teams across various geographic locations with minimum supervision.


People Management

  • Experience working in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage direct reports and coach junior staff.
  • Experience flagging issues for team leads.
  • Ability to be flexible and delegate effectively.
  • Train and identify learning opportunities for team members on media relations, client service, strategy, and agency business.


Agency Business

  • Understand and meet WE guidelines on best business practices including utilization, daily timesheets, accurate billing, timely expense reports, etc.
  • Make presentations to groups of all sizes – both client and agency, small and large, formal and informal.
  • Participate in professional development classes, utilize employee education fund and other opportunities for learning and continual improvement. Actively share what you learn.
  • Participate in team or agency projects as assigned.
  • Look for opportunities to “sell” or expand agency presence with the client.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or above in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, English, International Relations or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Communications desired, but not required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in corporate communications, internal communications and/or public relations, preferably in an agency setting and/or within applicable industry.

Additional Requirements

  • Increased level of analysis and strategic recommendations based on industry knowledge.
  • High level of initiative; takes accountability for role on projects.
  • Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks.
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.).
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English.
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion.
