    WE Communications, one of the world’s largest independent integrated communications agencies, is looking for driven professionals to join our highly successful office in Johannesburg. With an office in office in Illovo, we are keen to bolster our ranks with a talented PR/Comms Senior Account Executive to join us and work on a number of instantly recognisable regional and global technology and consumer brands.

     

    Our South Africa office is one of 18 across the globe, and it’s expanding rapidly. We work across time zones and continents. Our clients are innovative and so is our work – and importantly, our employees come first. We are currently looking for a first-class PR/Comms operator to become an integral part of our award-winning team, working on some of our largest and most established global clients; providing insightful client counsel, a deep understanding of the technology sector and passion for business writing.  We require you to have a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, contribute and have a voice in our super-collaborative team.  We also require you to have solid agency experience to date, whilst mastering the ability to manage both up and down – ensuring you develop, as well as your direct reports.

     

    This a great opportunity for an ambitious SAE to join our super-collaborative team and help us drive full integration across our client portfolio, allowing you to become an integral part on a number of key local, regional and global clients.  You will also have a solid understanding of how best to optimise both traditional and digital communication in order to deliver excellent integrated strategies.

    Responsibilities

    Main Accountabilities:

    • Integrated (traditional and digital) strategy and campaign development experience
    • Solid media relations skills, whilst already having strong and established relationships with local South African and EMEA wide media
    • Story generation – helping to brainstorm ideas to generate coverage for clients
    • Ability to work with the digital and creative teams– providing well thought out briefs a variety of projects such as microsites, infographics and visuals
    • Media relations – pitching stories, news and features
    • Day-to-day client liaison with a range of marketing, PR and technical stakeholders across international markets.

    Previous proven experience:

    • At least 3 years’ experience in communications – in an agency and/or within applicable industry
    • New business development experience

    • Meet WE guidelines on best business practices including utilization, daily timesheets, accurate billing, timely expense reports, etc.
    • Manage and understand how to utilize internal client service teams (editing, production, library, etc.) to ensure quality, comprehensive service to clients
