Then we have the role for you – an account manager who will support several global B2B technology clients and an agency team to create and tell stories across earned outlets and owned channels.

    This position will involve working with some of the smartest people in the business to tell transformative stories. The ideal candidate is curious, creative, and detailed-oriented and possesses strong storytelling skills. He or she must have experience pitching and landing stories in business and technology and industry trade publications, be a strategic thinker and excel at project managementHe or she will partner with our clients to ultimately drive brand recognition, relevance, and resonance on a global scale.


    Media Engagement

    • Possess aerospace/aviation/transportation experience along with experience pitching and landing stories in aerospace/transportation industry trade publications as well as business and technology publications
    • Ability to quickly forge new media relationships, identify proactive opportunities, and translate this into key insights and ultimately stories  
    • A strategic thinker with the ability to extrapolate on industry knowledge to make creative integrated communications recommendations
    • Ability to drive results with and through team members – both domestically and globally; global integration experience is preferred
    • Not required but expertise in defense publication and influencers a plus
    • Not required but expertise in government (media / relations) and issues management a plus

     Client Management

    • Provide strategic counsel to key clients & serve as a trusted advisor on clients & competitors
    • Manage & grow senior level client relationships
    • Assure internal & external stakeholders are aligned
    • Anticipate client communication challenges & develop recommendations
    • Negotiate & manage client expectations and satisfaction
    • Participate in budget and resource management along with tracking team utilization
    • Understanding of and engagement in global landscape of aerospace / aviation / transportation

     Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking

    • Develop & execute integrated communication plans
    • Participate in budget & resource management & tracking team utilization
    • Drive cross-team integration/ collaboration
    • Build awareness & showcase capabilities, talent & results internally & externally

     New Business Development

    • Assess validity and value of new & organic growth opportunities
    • Serve as project manager in preparation & delivery of organic growth or new business proposal content & in-person pitch meetings
    • Share industry POV and strong understanding of shifts and opportunities in the competitive agency landscape
    • Inform, educate & influence existing and potential future clients directly on WE value and positioning relative to competing agencies

    People Leadership

    • Manage career development & performance of direct reports
    • Partner with Human Resources to manage employee relations issues
    • Manage up & educate senior staff on crisis issues, & client/team satisfaction
    • Model & hold team accountable to demonstrating agency values


    Minimum/Preferred Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field is preferred, or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience
    • 4-5 + years of experience in integrated communications or PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry; 3 + years of management experience required
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with corporate image, issues/crisis management and strategic communications across multiple audience segments.
    • Exceptional media relations background with demonstrated capacity of working with global business and policy press to manage story development.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)

    Additional Requirements:

    • High level of analysis and strategic recommendations based on industry knowledge
    • High level of initiative; take accountability for role on projects
    • Demonstrated creative and strategic mindset
    • Has established editor and/or analyst relationships and has proactively placed stories
    • Made presentations to groups of all sizes; pitched new business
    • Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
    • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
    • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
    • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English
    • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
