Account Executive - PR

WE Codeword is looking for an Account Executive to join our growing Salt Lake City team.  We are searching for a PR pro with at least 2 years of experience who can handle clients and wants to work with exec, peer, and junior staff as equals.

Our ideal candidate will be able to:

• Work well with a team and quickly gain the confidence of clients
• Own projects through to the end and not need to be reminded to complete tasks
• Be super proactive and not afraid to get out there and chase down what they need
• Be able to understand the nuances of clients and how they fit into their overall marked and ecosystem

The AE plays a media focused and team support role. The role requires the ability to handle several projects at any time, as well as being able to respond quickly to a journalist, team and client request. The AE will develop a clear understanding of the team’s requirements and objectives, be proactive in attitude and supportive to the team at all times. They do this by:

• Offering thoughtful advice and recommendations to clients and team regarding media opportunities and tactics
• Owning individual media goals on each account, identified by the account’s day to day lead
• Drafting a wide range of written materials, including press releases, briefers, media alerts, pitches, etc. with minimal editing from account lead
• Supporting with the training of interns and trainees whenever possible

• 2-5 years of experience at a PR agency or in corporate communications
• Desire to build strong business, consumer, trade press, and analyst relationships 
• Team-oriented, can-do attitude, and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
• Desire to learn and advance within the agency
• Creativity and integrity
• A strong research background 
• The ability to perform well under pressure
• A self-starter attitude; you don’t just sit around waiting for an assignment, you see a problem or an opportunity and you find a solution or make the most of it
• Experience in consumer tech and/or B2B PR
• A strong entrepreneurial mindset 
• A firm grasp of the media industry  and how to pitch news stories 
• A bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
