Overview

WE Codeword is looking for a PR pro with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing team. We’re seeking someone who has experience in running accounts, managing clients, and mentoring junior employees. The ideal candidate will have outstanding media relationships and the skills necessary to serve as a client-facing account lead. 

 

The Senior Account Executive will work closely with teams to hold them accountable to client objectives and deliverables and expertly manage up to agency leadership. This person will understand what it means to own things and will be responsible for supporting the crafting and implementation of PR and brand strategies that generate results for our clients. This role requires a storyteller that knows how to crack media across a variety of different verticals and mediums – and you’ve got the clips to prove it.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing at WE Codeword:

 

  • Supporting a range of clients (mostly tech, B2B and B2C)
  • Mentoring junior employees
  • Researching, outlining, writing, editing, and proofreading all client materials including press releases, pitches, contributed articles, case studies, and social posts--you know your way around the page, you’re well-read, you can take a complex idea and articulate it clearly and effectively 
  • Maintaining client activity trackers and driving the client reporting process
  • Developing client account resources: media lists, speaking and awards lists, editorial calendars
  • Managing news monitoring process: client and competitor roundups—not just identifying it but also putting forward ideas about what we do with it
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the media, analysts and influencers relevant to clients
  • Meeting people, talking to people, and making conversation with clients, press, and your team
  • Conceptualizing and producing creative, interesting, and effective work
  • Creative problem solving and the ability to present solutions and recommendations to clients and team
  • An understanding of the dynamics of agency life and the ability to step in, run accounts, and manage teams with little oversight from the jump
  • Making yourself available to your clients and your team with the willingness to put in the extra work when required
  • Knowing what it takes to run a successful account, utilizing and learning from past experiences
  • The constant willingness to learn new things and improve your work every day

Qualifications

What you’ve been able to accomplish:

 

  • At least 3 years working in PR or communications, ideally working on accounts in tech, B2B and B2C 
  • Established business, tech, consumer, trade press, and analyst relationships 
  • Team-oriented attitude and a willingness to pitch in at any level when the help is needed
  • An true understanding of the value of delivering excellent work 
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure 
  • The ability to recognize the bigger picture and share perspective when it’s needed
