Overview

WE Communication is one of the largest independent communications and integrated marketing agency’s in the world with 24 offices globally and more than 1,300 people who love bringing communications to the next level. With an office close to Bankside, we are keen to bolster our ranks with a new hire on the Healthcare team to help expand our offering and support existing key integrated client(s).

 

We are currently looking for a first-class Account Manager to become an integral part of our award-winning team. Led by Head of Health, Catherine Devaney, the healthcare practice has gone through a revamp in the past few years which includes exciting UK and Global new business wins and the launch of a Scientific Engagement offering in June 2020.

 

The successful individual will be part of a team of 10 tasked with creating a market-defining offering which uses a progressive approach to healthcare communications to deliver impressive results for clients. Current clients span the UK and Global pharmaceutical industries, medical devices landscape and healthcare education platforms.

You are required to have a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, contribute and have a voice in our super-collaborative team. We also require you to have some agency experience to date, with an inquisitive mind and willingness to come out of your comfort zone to help build a business that is renowned for customer service and progressive healthcare communications

Responsibilities

Main Accountabilities:

  • Client service
    • Acting as the main client contact, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
    • Project management for a range of activities including press launches, events and campaign development
    • Development of a trusted relationship with clients to provide confident counsel and guidance on tactics
    • Working with teams to develop strategic materials to support client requests and initiatives
    • Working as an integral part of the team, supporting both Junior and Senior colleagues
  • Press office management for UK national, consumer and trade
    • Understanding of the media landscape to inform strong media strategy development and implementation
    • Development of press materials to a high standard, ensuring content is accurate and on-message
    • Management of proactive and reactive opportunities
  • Financial processes
    • Clear understanding of account budget status’, sharing regular updates with Senior team members
    • Development of accurate reconciliations and client updates
    • Working alongside the WE Finance team, as needed
  • Team leadership and management
    • Working with colleagues, both WE and external partners, across time zones and regions
    • Working alongside Junior team members to upskill and provide mentorship
    • Proactive involvement in WE UK initiatives and supporting colleagues across the business, outside of the immediate health team

 

Qualifications

Previous proven experience:

 

  • 4+ years within a PR/Comms agency
  • Experience of working on both pharmaceutical branded and unbranded campaigns and supporting clients at UK and Global / EMEA levels
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical review systems (e.g. Zinc, Veeva PromoMats etc.)
  • Experience in working on media campaigns that achieved successful results for clients
  • Clear understanding of, and experience in, working within ABPI/EFPIA regulatory environments

 

Agency Business

 

  • Meet WE guidelines on best business practices including utilization, daily timesheets, accurate billing, timely expense reports, etc.
  • Manage and understand how to utilize internal client service teams (editing, production, library, etc.) to ensure quality, comprehensive service to clients
