Microsoft Commercial Account Executive focused on Developer

 

We are looking for a PR pro who enjoys crafting stories and managing day-to-day client and agency requests in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. This position is on our Microsoft account. The focus is on reaching developer communities through earned and owned channels through campaigns, product launches, and engagement with media and influencers. This role provides an opportunity to learn and develop communication skills, while working on the Microsoft account.

 

The Account Executive will work with our team and clients announcements, story work and events.  This person will be a key member of a tightly knit, multi-city team that moves at a fast pace and cares deeply about our craft and team culture. Two things to know about us – 1) we believe that working together as a team fosters individual and agency success and 2) we like to have fun and bring new approaches to all we do.

 

The Account Executive position is based out of our WE Communication’s Portland, OR, Bellevue, WA, or San Francisco, CA, offices and will work remotely until our physical offices reopen.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the media and influencers that cover our client.
  • Keep a pulse on industry and competitive coverage and draft coverage flags to keep clients informed. 
  • Conduct and compile research on technology trends.
  • Draft pitches and help us with media and influencer outreach.
  • Bring a creative and curious mindset to brainstorms, problem-solving and storytelling. 

 

Qualifications

What you’ve been able to accomplish:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field, or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience
  • 2 years of experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong analytical writing skills
  • Experience with written and developed materials, including integrated communication plans, press releases, pitches, and social media content
