WE Communications is an independent, integrated agency with a strong Tech PR practice. Our Microsoft Commercial team is looking for an Account Executive to join the team.


We are looking for a PR pro who enjoys crafting stories and managing day-to-day client and agency requests in a dynamic team environment. This position on our Microsoft account is focused on cloud computing and will drive Tech and Business communications campaigns, product launches, and engagement with media and influencers. The Account Executive will partner with our clients to drive brand recognition, relevance, and resonance on a global scale. The Account Executive position is based out of our WE Communication’s Portland, OR, Bellevue, WA, or San Francisco, CA, offices and will work remotely until our physical offices reopen.


Job Functions:

  • Lead news cycles on product news and feature stories about how Microsoft customers and partners are using its technologies.
  • Grow, manage, and maintain relationships with media and technology industry influencers.
  • Provide strategic and tactical counsel to clients for interviews and storytelling.
  • Develop and pitch stories.
  • Write soundbites, statements, and social copy.
  • Collaborate with the agency team and clients.



Minimum/Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field is preferred, or the equivalent knowledge and/or experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the high tech industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong analytical writing skills
  • Experience with written and developed materials, including integrated communication plans, press releases, pitches, and social media content highly desirable.

  • Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
  • Experience working with colleagues in multiple locations
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion
